The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quanero misses with a jab, cross combination.
Papadakis scoring well with a low kick there.
Papadakis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Papadakis lands in his opponent's guard.
Quanero uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Julio Quanero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Quanero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Quanero scores with a jab to the head.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Papadakis.
Quanero swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Papadakis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Quanero tries to bum rush Papadakis with a series of wild strikes but Papadakis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Quanero misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Papadakis scores with a crisp jab that stopped Quanero in his tracks.
Quanero throws a jab when Papadakis was well out of range.
Quanero lands with a nice body punch.
Quanero takes a swing at Papadakis's ribcage but misses.
Quanero feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Papadakiss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Papadakis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Quanero quickly recovers to half guard.
Papadakis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Quanero slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Papadakis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Quanero is trying to control the position but Papadakis postures up.
Papadakis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Papadakis is sitting in close to Quanero's body. Quanero has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Papadakis is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Papadakis is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Quanero.
