Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mo Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jenkins, pushing him back against the cage.
Jackson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Jenkins is trying to pull guard but Jackson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jackson with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Jenkins tries to stall but Jackson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Jackson tries a knee to the head but Jenkins blocks it.

Jenkins wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jackson has him pressed against the cage.

Jenkins takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Bob Jenkins has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jackson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Jenkins jumps guard and drags Jackson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Jenkins looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jenkins keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jenkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jenkins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Jenkins's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.
Jenkins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jenkins closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A little jabbing left from Jackson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Jackson clinches.
Jenkins is working for takedown but Jackson is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Jenkins. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jackson lands a good knee to the midsection. Jenkins won't want to take too many of those.
Jackson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jenkins backwards.
Jackson throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jackson connects with a nasty looking knee right to Jenkins's face.
The referee calls for Jackson to work.
Jenkins is trying to force a seperation but Jackson has the dominant position.
Jackson just leaning against Jenkins, taking a breather.

Jenkins takes a knee to the side of the body.
Jenkins is breathing heavily.
Jackson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Jackson lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Jackson is pushing Jenkins up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Jackson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jenkins's defenses.
Jackson lands a nice elbow.


Bob Jenkins's cut is getting worse.
Jackson lands an elbow just above Jenkins 's eye.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Jackson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jenkins blocks it with crossed arms.

Jenkins wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jackson has him pressed against the cage.

Jackson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Mo Jackson.

Jenkins gets caught napping as Jackson dives in and scores a takedown. Jenkins manages to retain guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jackson throwing strikes but missing.
Jackson throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mo Jackson dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bob Jenkins's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jenkins slips a jab and a cross from Jackson.
Jackson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jenkins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jenkins moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.
Jenkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.

Jackson has managed to clinch.

Jenkins has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jackson uses from the top position.
Jenkins wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.
Jenkins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jenkins has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jackson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Jenkins has tightened it up now! Jackson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
