Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, John Loster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Malenko!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Malenko misses
and Loster counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Loster misses with a left hand
and Malenko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like John Loster has been cut.
Loster misses with a looping right.
Loster misses with a straight right.
Loster keeps the fight on the outside.
Decent striking displayed by Malenko there.

Malenko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Malenko lands in his opponent's guard.

Loster throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
My spies in The Shark Tank inform me that Malenko has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Loster is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Malenko defends well.
Loster has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Malenko seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Loster looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Malenko passes into half guard.
Malenko wants to free his trapped foot but Loster is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Malenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Loster keeps working.
Malenko trying to control from Loster's half guard. Loster has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Loster controls Malenko momentarily but Malenko frees himself.
Malenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Loster is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Loster working for a triangle but Malenko defends it easily.

Loster has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Malenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Loster is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Loster working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Malenko has passed into half guard!
Loster is refusing to be controlled, as Malenko sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Malenko passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Loster!
Malenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Loster is looking to escape.
Loster tries to hold on but Malenko pushes him away.
Loster keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Malenko pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Loster tries to hold on but Malenko postures up.
Malenko tries to control but Loster wriggling away.
Loster wants to hold on but Malenko pushes him away.
Loster is looking to improve his position but Malenko isn't that keen on the idea.
Malenko avoids the attempt from Loster to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ray Malenko dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Loster's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nice cross by Loster.
Loster jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Malenko! But no joy.
Malenko misses with a jab, cross combination.
Loster swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Malenko misses with a few strikes there.
Loster throws a hook to the side of Malenko's head but Malenko sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Malenko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Malenko takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Malenko moves out of range as Loster strikes.
Good exchange - Loster coming out on top.
Malenko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Loster misses with an uppercut. Malenko saw that one coming.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Loster!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Loster swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Malenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Loster.
Malenko looks to throw the jab but Loster is out of range.

Loster cracks Malenko with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Malenko looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Loster finish him?
A telegraphed right hand from Loster misses the target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Loster jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Loster moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Loster looks to land a left hand but Malenko moved out of range nicely.
Malenko cracks Loster with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Loster is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Malenko misses with a series of wild punches.
John Loster is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Malenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Loster moves away.
A big left from Loster misses.
Malenko cracks Loster with an open hand slap.
Loster missing with a left hand there. Malenko was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Malenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Loster circles away quickly and effectively.
John Loster is winning the standup battle so far.
Loster connects with a jab.
Malenko lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Malenko takes a jab right on the kisser.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Loster throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Malenko counters with a straight that turns Loster's legs to rubber! Malenko pushes forward with more strikes and Loster goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ray Malenko!
Ray Malenko decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
