The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strickland shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blake's guard.
Blake scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Strickland closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Blake's guard.
Blake trying to keep a closed guard but Strickland is proving a slippery customer.
Strickland avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Blake is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Strickland presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Blake gets through Strickland's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Strickland's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Strickland gets caught flat footed, as Blake shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Strickland working for a triangle but Blake defends it easily.
Blake tries to free his leg and advance position but Strickland is retaining full guard.
Strickland seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Blake postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Strickland has a closed guard, preventing Blake from standing up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Strickland takes one to the chin there.
Blake has managed to clinch.

Strickland fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Blake has Strickland pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Blake pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Strickland tumbling to the mat - Blake dives into Strickland's guard.
Blake is fighting to break Strickland's control of his arms but Strickland is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blake accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Strickland seems keen to control Blake's posture.

Strickland is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Blake defends well.
Blake wants to control from the top but Strickland keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blake bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Strickland wants to control but Blake postures up.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Blake manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Strickland on his heels. He'll look to pass Strickland's guard now, I'm sure.
Blake looking to sit in guard and control but Strickland gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Blake wants to sweep but no luck.
Strickland slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Blake.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strickland throws a big elbow that misses.
Strickland postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Blake throws his legs up looking for a submission but Strickland uses it to pass to side control.

Blake is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Strickland has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Strickland cracks Blake with a big right hand but Blake just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Blake tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Strickland is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Blake has escaped the position, nice work there.
An elbow from Strickland crashes against the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blake is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Strickland's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Blake pushes Strickland off, looking to escape but Strickland dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Blake is forced to tap! The fight is over!
