PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bagong Buhay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Coleman Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buhay comes to the cage accompanied by Tatsulok. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bagong Buhay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Coleman Jr!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buhay avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Coleman Jr showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Buhay.
Buhay throws a body shot but no joy.

Coleman Jr moves into the clinch.

Coleman Jr lands a left hand that snaps the head of Buhay backwards.
Buhay tries to pull guard but Coleman Jr won't allow it.
Coleman Jr pushes Buhay back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Buhay tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coleman Jr is working Buhay over against the cage.
Buhay jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Coleman Jr walks away with a smile on his face. Buhay gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bagong Buhay. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coleman Jr darts in and clinches Buhay up against the cage.
Buhay is trying to pull guard but Coleman Jr has him pressed against the cage.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Buhay gets control of Coleman Jr's arms and successfully pulls guard. Buhay will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Buhay seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Coleman Jr chips away with some ground and pound.
Coleman Jr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Coleman Jr looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Coleman Jr lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Buhay has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coleman Jr is working away from the top position though.

Coleman Jr seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Buhay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Coleman Jr is keen to just control but Buhay is a slippery customer.

Buhay pushes a forearm under Coleman Jr's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Coleman Jr is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bagong Buhay!
A very excited looking Bagong Buhay made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
