Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Farinola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davis Remus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Remus has chosen Right Above It as his entrance music. Frank Farinola could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Davis Remus's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Farinola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davis Remus!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Farinola moves into the clinch.
Farinola creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Remus misses with a hook to the ribs.

Farinola pushes off an throws an elbow but Remus leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Remus goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Remus wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Farinola has picked Remus up - he's going for a ride! Farinola dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Farinola looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Remus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Farinola slips a nice elbow through Remus's hands, connecting with Remus's forehead.

Remus felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well, if Farinola is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Farinola takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Farinola has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Remus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Farinola changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Remus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Farinola has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Farinola drives through with a takedown into Remus's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Remus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Farinola stacks Remus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Farinola!

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Remus.

Remus misses with a body shot.
Farinola throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Horrible takedown attempt by Farinola or perhaps it was just good defense by Remus, which made it look bad.

Davis Remus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Farinola is nestled in close to Remus, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Farinola, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
