PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josiah Bartlet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nylerhotep Constantine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bartlet comes to the cage accompanied by FM - 1 O'clock Tomorrow. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Josiah Bartlet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nylerhotep Constantine!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Constantine throws a shot to the body.
Some wild striking there from Constantine.
Constantine throws a combination. Bartlet tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Constantine takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Bartlet slips a straight right by Constantine.
Bartlet drops down looking for a counter takedown but Constantine sprawls and moves away.
Constantine fails to land with a series of punches.

Bartlet dives in and scores a takedown into Constantine's guard.
Constantine has his hands on Bartlet's head, controlling the position.
Bartlet lands a couple of digs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bartlet stands and throws Constantine's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The strikes coming from Bartlet are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Constantine tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bartlet wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Constantine is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bartlet asserts his dominance and retains side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Constantine avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bartlet.
Bartlet postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bartlet controls the position.

Bartlet scores with a couple of short elbows.

Constantine is rocked!
Bartlet connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Constantine some visible discomfort.
Constantine is still in real trouble! Can Bartlet finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bartlet works to advance to full mount. Constantine defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Bartlet unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Constantine wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Bartlet celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josiah Bartlet!
In his post fight interview, Josiah Bartlet started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
