PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Debe Emtu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mairbek Taisumov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emtu comes to the cage accompanied by Fade To Black. Taisumov has chosen Castle in the snow as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taisumov tries to clinch there but Emtu circles away.
Emtu throws a hook to the side of Taisumov's head but Taisumov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Taisumov now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Taisumov misses the shot to the body.
Emtu needs to keep his hands up - Taisumov had a free shot at his head there.
A slow jab from Emtu misses its intended target.
Emtu is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Taisumov.

Emtu throws a looping overhand right but Taisumov ducks down to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taisumov fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Emtu checks it well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Taisumov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Emtu avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Emtu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Emtu throws a looping overhand right but Taisumov ducks down to avoid it.
Taisumov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Emtu looks to throw the jab but Taisumov is out of range.
Emtu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Emtu tries to move into range but Taisumov moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Taisumov misses with a wild body shot.
Taisumov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Emtu.
Taisumov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Taisumov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Emtu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Taisumov slaps away a takedown attempt from Emtu, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Taisumov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mairbek Taisumov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Emtu throws the left hand but Taisumov avoids the punch easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Taisumov lands with a right and another and another! Emtu is in big trouble! Taisumov lands again and this time it's lights out for Emtu! A quality knockout there for Taisumov.
