And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Soa Palelei!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Villefort slips a straight right by Palelei.
Palelei throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like Gerard De Villefort has been cut.
De Villefort shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Palelei pinned against the cage. Palelei gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
De Villefort throws a body punch but Palelei moves out of range.
Palelei tries a quick counter leg kick but De Villefort is wise to it.
De Villefort throws a lazy right hand but Palelei sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Palelei takes a jab right on the kisser.
De Villefort misses with a body punch
and Palelei counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps De Villefort thinking.
De Villefort shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Palelei defends it nicely.
Palelei throws a big counter head kick but De Villefort avoids it with no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Villefort swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Palelei let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
De Villefort has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

De Villefort closes the distance and clinches up with Palelei, looking for a takedown. De Villefort pushes Palelei against the cage but Palelei circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A little jabbing left from Palelei on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

De Villefort goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Palelei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Soa Palelei will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


De Villefort is looking to clinch but Palelei is avoiding it.
Palelei fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches De Villefort on the side of the head.
Palelei fakes high and swings low for a body shot but De Villefort manages to avoid it.
Palelei throws out a loose jab but De Villefort uses good head movement to avoid it.

Palelei misses with a hook to the ribs.

Palelei wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A nice right hand lands inside from Palelei.
De Villefort blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
