The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Hyde finds it's way through Nexus's defenses.

It looks like Galaxy Nexus has been cut.
Hyde throws a poor cross that misses
and Nexus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hyde throws a big shot that misses.
Nexus darts in looking for a takedown but Hyde gets double underhooks and turns Nexus into the cage.
Hyde tries a low kick but Nexus avoids it.
Hyde fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nexus manages to avoid it.
Hyde throws an overhand right that lands on Nexus's shoulder, as Nexus tries to avoid the shot.
A jab from Nexus misses.
Hyde feints and then cracks Nexus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nexus down.
Hyde throws a sloppy body shot
and Nexus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nexus jabs Hyde to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Nexus counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nexus blocks the strikes from Hyde.
Hyde wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hyde manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hyde is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Still in half guard, Hyde seems content to control.

Nexus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hyde doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hyde manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hyde avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hyde accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hyde is fighting to break Nexus's control of his arms but Nexus is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hyde told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Nexus is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hyde throws a half hearted mid kick.
Nexus attempts a counter takedown but Hyde avoids it well and moves away.
The crowd cheers as Hyde lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nexus doesn't seem phased though.
Hyde throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hyde jabs at Nexus's body.
Hyde misses with a low kick.
Nexus lands a nice shot to the body.

Tito Hyde is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Nexus scores with a hook to the body. Hyde takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hyde is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Hyde uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nexus.

Nexus is looking to wear down Hyde with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Hyde pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nexus is out of range and Hyde settles back down.

so Nexus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Hyde pushes Nexus off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Hyde's corner calls for a 1-2. Hyde obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hyde punishes Nexus's body with a nice straight punch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hyde, as that shot connected.

Nexus is rocked!

Galaxy Nexus's cut is getting worse.
Hyde circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Nexus tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Hyde wins by KO!

Galaxy Nexus was interviewed post fight and said 'He was the better man tonight but to be honest its getting tougher to make this weight class so I think I am going to move up.'.
