Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Optimus Prime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Stankevich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Optimus Prime!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Igor Stankevich!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime connects with a crisp jab.
Decent striking displayed by Prime there.
Stankevich lands with a right hand.
A big left from Prime misses.
Optimus Prime seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stankevich throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Prime looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Prime misses with a straight right.
A countering left hand to the body from Stankevich misses.
Prime changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Prime has a takedown stuffed.

Prime clinches up with Stankevich and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A little jabbing left from Stankevich on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Prime doesn't manage to clinch there - Stankevich circles away.
Prime jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Prime dives in for a single leg takedown but Stankevich sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Stankevich throws a jab when Prime was well out of range.
Prime changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Stankevich has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Prime ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Prime closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Stankevich's guard.

Prime is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stankevich looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Prime seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Stankevich looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Prime moves out of range as Stankevich strikes.
Prime half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

and Stankevich counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Optimus Prime will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Stankevich takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Prime wants to clinch
and Stankevich counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Prime is looking to clinch.
Prime tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stankevich paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A nice side step and Stankevich releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Prime tries to free his leg and advance position but Stankevich is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Stankevich fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Prime manages to avoid it.

Prime throws a right hand that Stankevich ducks under and follows up with a left that Stankevich also avoids with ease.

Stankevich tries to sprawl but Prime drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Stankevich pushes Prime off looking to stand but Prime dives back in and keeps control.

Prime is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Prime is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stankevich doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Prime.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stankevich tries to kick Prime off but Prime keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Prime moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Prime keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stankevich's efforts to push away.
Prime is struggling to control the position.
Stankevich dodges an elbow strike from Prime.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Prime just misses with a elbow thrown towards Stankevich's brow.
Stankevich tries to circle away but Prime has him pinned against the cage.
Prime's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Prime changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stankevich fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Stankevich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Prime shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stankevich as he jumps to the side.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Stankevich! But no joy.
Prime changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stankevich tries to avoid it but Prime manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stankevich to the ground. Stankevich escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Stankevich rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Prime moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Prime is rocked!
Prime is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Stankevich doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Prime crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Prime's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Igor Stankevich!
