PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Anywhere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kong has chosen Shepherd of Fire as his entrance music. King Kong will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mr Anywhere!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, King Kong!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anywhere misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anywhere pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Anywhere throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kong looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Anywhere!
Anywhere is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kong tries to stand but Anywhere is controlling his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anywhere sneaks back into half guard.
Anywhere slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kong pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Anywhere is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anywhere looking for a guillotine here but Kong defends easily.
Kong passes Anywhere's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kong works his way into full mount!
Kong can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anywhere is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Anywhere tries to hold on but Kong pushes him away.
Anywhere sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Anywhere tries to get to full guard but Kong has control of the leg.
Anywhere is refusing to be controlled, as Kong sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anywhere tries to roll over but Kong keeps him under control.
Kong content to control rather than advance.
Kong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anywhere. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kong is trying to control. Anywhere wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Anywhere lands a head kick that stumbles Kong and the fighters go to the mat.


It looks like King Kong has been cut.

Anywhere drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Anywhere jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Anywhere slips nicely into half guard.

Anywhere gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Anywhere tries a head kick but it misses.
Anywhere throws a series of punches but Kong avoids them all with ease.
Anywhere throws a right hand that Kong ducks under and follows up with a left that Kong also avoids with ease.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Anywhere misses with the combination.
Kong tries to counter with a clinch but Anywhere shakes him off and moves away.
A head kick misses from Anywhere.
Some wild striking there from Kong.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Anywhere dominated that round.
The cut man is working on King Kong's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Anywhere lands with a straight right. Kong didn't see that one coming.
Anywhere misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anywhere connects with an inside leg kick.
A combination from Anywhere does no damage.
Mr Anywhere is winning the standup battle so far.
Anywhere swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Anywhere.
Kong pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Anywhere back to the cage. Kong follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Mr Anywhere has been cut.
Anywhere showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kong.
Kong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kong moves into the clinch.

Kong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Anywhere is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Kong hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mr Anywhere!
King Kong was interviewed post fight and said 'Next time you go down!!!'.
