The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay fails with an attempt to clinch.
Guy fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jay looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Jay doesn't manage to clinch there - Guy circles away.

Jay moves to clinch but Guy breaks away
enabling Guy to counter with a crisp jab.
Guy throws a series of strikes that have Jay backpedaling.

and Guy counters with a one-two to the body.
A jab from Guy finds it's way through Jay's defenses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I was talking to Guy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Jay creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A nice right hand lands inside from Guy.
Guy doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Guy is pushing Jay up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jay just misses with a elbow thrown towards Guy's brow.

A left hand lands to the body for Guy.
Guy dips a shoulder and cracks Jay with a mighty uppercut! Jay falls back against the cage and Guy unloads with a barrage of strikes! Jay is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Guy screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
