The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Kint blocks the low kick.
Kint attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Kint goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kint on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
MacManus has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Kint takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Kint chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before MacManus can pounce on him.

My spies in Devils Den New York inform me that Kint has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kint lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and MacManus has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from MacManus and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd cheers as MacManus lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kint doesn't seem phased though.
Kint feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
MacManus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kint throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! MacManus escapes and throws Kint's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kint tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but MacManus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

MacManus lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
