Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Shifter circles away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rua lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Rua got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shifter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rua has managed to get both his arms back between Shifter's legs - danger averted.

Rua wants to stand but Shifter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee is keeping an eye on Rua - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Rua throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Rua throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch but Shifter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shifter gets tackled into the cage by Rua. Rua maintains the clinch.
Shifter is trying to pull guard but Rua has him pressed against the cage.
The referee calls for Rua to work.
Rua tries to land knees in the clinch but Shifter avoids the damage to the body.

Shifter tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rua gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Rua wants to get up but he can't break Shifter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Shifter is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rua throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Shifter's body to avoid the submission. Shifter has instead reached around Rua's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Shifter arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
