Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Kordic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antero Palo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Unforgiven. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Kordic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Antero Palo!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palo misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kordic counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Palo throws a hook but Kordic blocks it.
Palo misses with a head kick.
Kordic changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kordic. Palo shrugs it off though.
Palo jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Palo throws an overhand right that lands on Kordic's shoulder, as Kordic tries to avoid the shot.
Palo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A telegraphed right hand from Kordic misses the target.
Kordic takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kordic uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Palo.
Kordic avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kordic throws a leg kick which misses Palo's front leg but catches the back leg as Palo tries to avoid it.
Kordic shoots for a takedown but Palo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kordic on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like John Kordic has been cut.
Palo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kordic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kordic avoids the body shot from Palo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Palo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Kordic lands with a good body shot.
Palo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Palo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Palo throws a right hand that misses
and Kordic counters with a left to the body.
Palo looks winded!
Kordic ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kordic.
Palo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kordic was well out of range. Poor timing from Palo.
Kordic changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kordic throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Antero Palo has been cut.
Kordic moves out of range of the leg kick from Palo.
Kordic seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Antero Palo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Kordic finds it's way through Palo's defenses.
Palo has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kordic.
Kordic lands a head kick that stumbles Palo and the fighters go to the mat.
Palo is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kordic trying to control but Palo is working from the bottom.
Palo is still in real trouble! Can Kordic finish him?
Kordic postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Palo covers up, he's hurt! Kordic keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kordic and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kordic can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Kordic!
After winning the bout, John Kordic thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
