PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peaky Blinder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alden Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peaky Blinder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alden Ho!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blinder tries to clinch up.
Blinder lands a front kick.
Blinder avoids a kick to the body.
Blinder avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ho gets a takedown into half guard.
Ho tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blinder knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Ho seems to be working for a kimura but Blinder defends the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ho is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blinder doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ho.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ho tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Ho seems to be working for a kimura but Blinder defends the submission attempt.
Ho not doing much here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ho is thwarting Blinder's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ho stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A thudding body kick lands there by Blinder!
Blinder scores with a nice body kick.

Ho looking to score a takedown here. Blinder is defending well but Ho drives through and ends up in Blinder's guard.
Ho's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ho throws a big elbow that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ho slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Ho postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blinder is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ho, into his guard.

Ho working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blinder doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blinder manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ho looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ho holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Peaky Blinder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ho checks the leg kick.

Ho moves into the clinch successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blinder tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Blinder doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Blinder is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ho is defending well for now.

Ho manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alden Ho dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ho fails with a takedown attempt.
A thudding body kick lands there by Blinder!
Ho misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ho is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Blinder tries to counter by clinching up but Ho breaks away and moves out of range.
A nice inside leg kick there by Blinder. That's going to slow Ho down.
Ho throws a sloppy head kick
and Blinder counters with a nice body kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ho closes the distance and clinches.
The referee is keeping an eye on Blinder - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Blinder tries to work over Ho's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A head punch on the inside from Blinder fails to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Blinder fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Blinder scores with a hook to the body.
Blinder has a couple of punches blocked by Ho.
Blinder misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ho.
Ho on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Blinder obliges.
Blinder misses with a punch to the body.
Blinder gets underhooks to prevent Ho's takedown attempt.

Ho works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Blinder has a closed guard, preventing Ho from standing up.
Blinder wants to sweep here but Ho controlling him for the moment.
Ho sitting in guard here, content to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ho wants to stand and escape but instead Blinder has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ho is on top in guard.
Ho works over Blinder with some ground and pound from guard.
Blinder is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ho keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Blinder's head.
Blinder can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ho controls the pace.
Ho is working Blinder over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ho lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ho wants to stand but Blinder has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ho is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blinder scores with a leg kick.
Blinder throws a big shot that misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blinder feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ho's calf.
Blinder blocks the body kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Blinder, right into the meat.

Ho shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Blinder manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Peaky Blinder will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


No luck for Ho with that takedown attempt.
Ho looks for the body kick but Blinder saw that one coming.
Blinder throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ho.

Ho shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ho showed some decent athleticism there.

Ho decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Blinder looks to land a body kick but Ho moved away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blinder looks to score with a jab to the body but Ho is just out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Blinder, right into the meat.
Blinder ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ho moves away.
Ho blocks a leg kick.
Blinder attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Ho is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Alden Ho is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ho on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Blinder pushes Ho away with a front kick.

Ho shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blinder's guard.
Ho pushes down on Blinder's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Ho uses his free foot to push down on Blinder's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Blinder.

Blinder is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Ho locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Blinder is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Alden Ho!
