PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gyawang Lhad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lhad comes to the cage accompanied by Iced Earth - Anthem. The crowd seem to be enjoying Mamba's choice of entrance music: Here Comes The Hotstepper. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lhad tries to close the distance and clinch but Mamba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lhad pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mamba tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Lhad closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mamba quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mamba moves into full guard.

Mamba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lhad can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mamba throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Lhad knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mamba on the ground.

Mamba pushes a forearm under Lhad's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Lhad is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
