The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watanabe avoids a punch combination nicely.
Adams ducks under a wild hook from Watanabe.
Adams scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Shun Watanabe has been cut.
Watanabe misses with a hook. Adams ducked under it nicely.
Adams digs a good hook to Watanabe's body.
Adams connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Watanabe's hands.
Watanabe seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Adams misses with a jab, cross combination.
Adams thuds his right hand into Watanabe's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Adams works over Watanabe's head and body with a nice combination.

Adams's coach down at Fokai Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Adams's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As Watanabe backs off Adams throws a huge counter combo but Watanabe manages to avoid it all.

Adams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Watanabe.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shun Watanabe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Adams throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Watanabe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It seemed like Adams was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Adams closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Watanabe throws the left hand but Adams avoids the punch easily.
Adams swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Watanabe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


Adams is rocked!
Watanabe fakes the body blow, causing Adams to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Adams goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Shun Watanabe!
A less than humble Shun Watanabe misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
