The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danielsson throws a leg kick
and Mahones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mahones lands a slapping body shot.
Mahones throws the left hand but Danielsson avoids the punch easily.
Danielsson misses with a straight right.
Mahones appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Mahones forces Danielsson back against the cage and clinches.

Danielsson wants a takedown but no success here.
Mahones has Danielsson pressed against the cage.
Danielsson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stones Mahones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henrik Danielsson.
Mahones scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Danielsson jumps guard and drags Mahones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Danielsson has his foot on Mahones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mahones works his way back into a safe position though.
Mahones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mahones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Danielsson working a defensive guard but Mahones manages to pass into side control anyway.

Danielsson is working for a rear naked choke. Mahones is not defending it well and Danielsson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Mahones refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Mahones's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
