The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mark gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Mark breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mark rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rowe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A little feinted left hand from Rowe on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Rowe gets the takedown into side control.
Rowe tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Rowe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mark knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rowe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mark throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mark throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rowe half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Mark closes the distance and pushes Rowe back into the cage.

Mark's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rowe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mark manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rowe is sitting in close to Mark's body. Mark has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Rowe is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Rowe is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mark.
