The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
A body shot lands from West Jr.
Graves is looking for a takedown.
Graves is trying to pull guard but West Jr has him pressed against the cage.
Graves manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
West Jr wants to stand and escape but instead Graves has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Graves throwing strikes but missing.
Graves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Graves sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed West Jr's guard.
Graves is working for a kimura but West Jr is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Graves thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed West Jr's head.
