Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Hillman!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers avoids a punch combination nicely.
A quick step to the side and Rivers tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Hillman dives in and scores a takedown into Rivers's guard.
Rivers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Rivers trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Rivers trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Hillman pushing down on Rivers's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rivers is looking for a sweep. Hillman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hillman tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivers looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hillman wants to stand up but Rivers has a hold of him and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rivers gets back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rivers scores with a shot to the body.
Hillman doesn't manage to clinch there - Rivers circles away.
Rivers looks to score with a jab to the body but Hillman is just out of range.
Despite the aggression on Hillman's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Hillman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hillman passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Hillman lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rivers is looking to improve his position.
Hillman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rivers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hillman content to control rather than advance.
Hillman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hillman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rivers keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Rivers is trying to get back to full guard.
Hillman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rivers is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hillman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rivers!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rivers is trying to get back to half guard.
Rivers takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Rivers gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Rivers throws a strike from the bottom but Hillman passes into side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rivers gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Hillman dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rivers swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Hillman counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Hillman looks at the referee who does nothing so Hillman lands a crushing right that sends Rivers to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Hillman!
