Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kong Su han (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Gibiatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibiatti has chosen DJ DJ as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 25 - 1, fighting out of New York, Kong Su han!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Gibiatti!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibiatti connects with a right hand. Su han shakes it off.
Good leg kick by Su han there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Su han scores with a punch to the head.
Gibiatti tries a head kick but it misses.
Gibiatti misses with a hook. Su han ducked under it nicely.
Gibiatti dives in for a single leg takedown but Su han sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Su han walks into a straight right hand from Gibiatti.
Gibiatti is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Su han.
Su han went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Su han tries a low kick but Gibiatti avoids it.
It seemed like Gibiatti was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Gibiatti pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Frank Gibiatti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice uppercut there from Gibiatti.
Su han connects with a leg kick. Gibiatti looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Su han tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gibiatti manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gibiatti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Su han but Su han pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Su han counters with a series of strikes. Gibiatti will be more careful next time no doubt.

Gibiatti is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Su han is defending well.
Kong Su han has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Gibiatti.

Su han is trying to maintain a safe position but Gibiatti gets an underhook and turns Su han into the cage.

Gibiatti has hold of one of Su han's legs. Su han is fighting the takedown attempt but Gibiatti gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Su han stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gibiatti swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gibiatti is looking for a triangle but Su han pushes his legs off easily.

Gibiatti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Su han gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gibiatti holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Su han is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Su han accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Su han has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gibiatti has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Su han can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Su han got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gibiatti has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Su han has managed to get both his arms back between Gibiatti's legs - danger averted.
Gibiatti wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Gibiatti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Su han defends it easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kong Su han will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gibiatti lands with a short shot to the head.
Gibiatti stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Su han breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gibiatti lands a nice looking kick to the body. Su han takes a step back to recover.
Kong Su han is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gibiatti swings for the body but Su han moves out of range.
Su han moves away from the strike by Gibiatti.
A quick step to the side and Su han tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gibiatti lands a body shot.
Gibiatti circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gibiatti misses with a hook.
A looping hook to the body misses from Su han. Gibiatti does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice uppercut there from Su han.
Gibiatti throws a sloppy head kick and Su han moves out of range easily.
Su han feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Su han keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Su han slips under a jab.
Su han throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Su han uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gibiatti.
Gibiatti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Su han with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Gibiatti looks to throw the jab but Su han is out of range.

and Su han counters with a nice kick to the body.
Gibiatti is breathing heavily.

Su han lands a left and a right that send Gibiatti crashing to the mat, dazed. Su han thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Gibiatti is rocked!
Gibiatti looks to land a left hand but Su han moved out of range nicely.
Gibiatti is still on wobbly legs! Can Su han finish him?
Su han fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Gibiatti to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Gibiatti looks to clinch but Su han throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Gibiatti taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Kong Su han!
