PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Filippo Di Vaio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazunori Ishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ishii has chosen Imagine Dragons - Radioactive as his entrance music. Filippo Di Vaio had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Kazunori Ishii told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Di Vaio closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Di Vaio fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ishii avoids it really well and circles away.
Ishii looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Di Vaio accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Di Vaio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ishii defends it easily.

Ishii lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Di Vaio circles away quickly and effectively.

and Ishii counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Di Vaio badly! He tries to strike back but Ishii puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Di Vaio out cold! Oh man, Di Vaio will never hear the end of this one!
