The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kampmann lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Kampmann moves out of range of the body kick.
Brandao throws a head kick that half lands.
Brandao misses with a wild body shot.
We've been told by Kampmann's head coaches at Sydney Shootfighting that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Brandao takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Kampmann takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kampmann uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brandao.
Brandao dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kampmann. That did some damage!

Brandao fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kampmann.

Kampmann throws a looping overhand right but Brandao ducks down to avoid it.

Brandao motions for Kampmann to come forward. Brandao throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That kick from Brandao tenderised Kampmann's leg. Kampmann is trying to keep his angry face on.

Kampmann scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Brandao ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Brandao fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kampmann checks it well.
Diego Brandao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kampmann tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brandao was well out of range. Poor timing from Kampmann.
Brandao lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Brandao throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kampmann.

Kampmann rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brandao moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Brandao dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Brandao throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Kampmann works the jab nicely.
A good leg kick by Kampmann.
Kampmann rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brandao makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kampmann.
Brandao takes one to the chin there.

Brandao is rocked!
Kampmann steps in with a hook that catches Brandao right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Kampmann follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Brandao looks absolutely devastated.
