Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ola John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vesa Sykk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sykk has chosen Rage Against The Machine - Killing In The Name as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vesa Sykk was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ola John!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vesa Sykk!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykk missing with a left hand there. John was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
John throws a jab but it's blocked by Sykk.
Good leg kick by John there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
John works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Sykk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but John was well out of range. Poor timing from Sykk.
John listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
A cross from Sykk lands.
John definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
John feints and then cracks Sykk's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sykk down.
A solid leg kick lands there for John.
John works the jab nicely.
Sykk misses with a low kick.
John fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Sykk.
Sykk slips a straight right by John.
A leg kick checked by John.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A big left from Sykk misses.
John tries to counter with a takedown but Sykk is quick to defend against it.
Sykk loads up on a big right hand but John slips the punch.
Sykk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sykk defending well as John loads up on a big left hand.
John looks for the body kick but Sykk saw that one coming.
It seemed like Sykk was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
John misses with a looping left.
Ola John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
John misses with a leg kick.
Sykk fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and John has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sykk lands a glancing blow to the side of John's head.
Sykk throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A little feinted left hand from John on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
John is looking to land body kicks.
Sykk fails to land with a series of punches.
John takes a swing at Sykk's ribcage but misses.
Sykk wants to counter the offense by John and move into the clinch position.
Sykk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but John circles away quickly and effectively.
John motions for Sykk to come forward. John throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
John cracks Sykk with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Sykk chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before John can pounce on him.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from John.
Sykk throws out a loose jab but John uses good head movement to avoid it.
As Sykk backs away, John returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
John connects with an inside leg kick.
Sykk misses with a body shot.
Sykk lands a leg kick that knocks John off balance momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
John lands a lovely overhand right.
John misses with a low kick.
Sykk steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from John.
Sykk moves out of range as John strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
John ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sykk moves away.
John tries a low kick but Sykk avoids it.
John throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sykk misses with a head kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for John.
John tried to score with a low kick but Sykk checks it.
Sykk steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from John.
John takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
John looks for a takedown but Sykk sprawls well.
Sykk walks into a straight right hand from John.
John gets a double leg takedown into Sykk's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sykk is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sykk has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think John should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sykk has tightened it up now! John should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Vesa Sykk!
An out of breath Vesa Sykk thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
