PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Son Goku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Son Goku was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goku tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ware paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Goku closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ware did well to prevent Goku getting side control.
Goku wants to stand up but Ware is controlling the position.
Goku tries to stand and escape but Ware actually recovers to full guard.
Goku wanted to stand there but Ware had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goku wants to stand and escape but instead Ware has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ware won't allow Goku to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Goku utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ware is looking to work some ground and pound but Goku has wrist control.
Goku is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ware throws a big right hand that misses.
Ware throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Goku works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ware stops Goku from standing up.

Goku has his feet on Ware's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Goku shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ware napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Goku has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Goku gets a double leg takedown into Ware's guard.

Ware looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Goku wants to get up but he can't break Ware's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Goku stands and steps away. Ware gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Ware is breathing heavily.
Ware get stunned by a cross and takes another one on the button. Ware stumbles backwards and tries to bounce back off the cage but Goku runs in and jumps on him with a leaping lead hook that puts him out! Wow, that was highlight reel stuff! Awesome finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Son Goku!
A relieved looking Son Goku thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
