Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharpe shoots in looking for a takedown. Alves tries to sprawl out of it but Sharpe keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sharpe shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Alves scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Sharpe manages to mount him!
Alves blocking the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alves is trying desperately to improve position.
Sharpe lands a couple of good shots and Alves has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Alves covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Sharpe looking for the choke but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sharpe has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Alves has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Sharpe looking to break Alves's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Alves remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Sharpe will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Alves is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Sharpe.

Sharpe is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Alves defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Sharpe is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Sharpe shoots in for a takedown but Alves shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sharpe closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Alves's guard.

Both fighters circling a little - Alves finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Sharpe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Alves counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sharpe thinking.
Alves lands a nice looking body kick.
Sharpe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Alves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Alves connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sharpe momentarily.

Sharpe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alves tries to avoid it but Sharpe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alves to the ground. Alves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sharpe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sharpe closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. Sharpe pushes Alves against the cage but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Alves lands with a hook. Sharpe tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sharpe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sharpe there as he acknowledges the shot.
Alves fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sharpe has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sharpe shoots in looking for a takedown but Alves manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sharpe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A counter left hand to the body from Alves misses its target.
Sharpe loses concentration momentarily and Alves pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Sharpe crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Alves finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Michael Alves bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
