The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Jonhson or perhaps it was just good defense by Rogan, which made it look bad.
Rogan shoots in but no luck this time.
Jonhson dives in for a single leg takedown but Rogan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jonhson shoots in and drives through. Rogan sprawls well.
Joe Rogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lamar Jonhson.
Rogan shoots for a double leg takedown but Jonhson sprawls well. He's pushed Rogan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rogan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Joe Rogan has been cut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jonhson feints and as Rogan raises his hands in defense, Jonhson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jonhson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jonhson has managed to get both his arms back between Rogan's legs - danger averted.

We've been hearing good reports from Rogan's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Jonhson darts in and clinches Rogan up against the cage.
The referee calls for Jonhson to work.

Jonhson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Lamar Jonhson seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Oh Rogan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jonhson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jonhson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Rogan seems to have got his legs back now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rogan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jonhson, up you get!
Jonhson cracks Rogan with a good jab.

Joe Rogan's cut is getting worse.
Jonhson connects with a combination that backs up Rogan into the cage. Jonhson lands a flurry of punches that gets past Rogan's guard. Rogan is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Jonhson bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
