Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robinson Crusoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Koko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson Crusoe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robinson Crusoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Koko!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Koko looks to score with a jab to the body but Crusoe is just out of range.
Crusoe drops down looking for a counter takedown but Koko sprawls and moves away.
Nice cross by Koko.
Koko misses with a hook to the body

and Crusoe counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Koko!
Crusoe is looking to take a break and control but Koko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Crusoe controlling from side mount.
Crusoe in side control, throwing shots but Koko defends.
Koko tries to buck Crusoe off but Crusoe is having none of it.
Koko is still trying to improve position.

Crusoe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Koko told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Koko is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Crusoe lands a decent elbow from side control.
Crusoe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Koko keeps working.
Koko is trying to control Crusoe's posture but Crusoe avoids it.
Koko is looking to regain half guard here but Crusoe keeps moving and retains side control.

Crusoe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Koko is looking for a sweep.
Crusoe tries to advance to mount but Koko denies him.

Crusoe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Koko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Crusoe controls the position from side control.

Crusoe grinds an elbow into Koko's temple.
Koko is pushing Crusoe's head away, looking to escape. Crusoe manages to hold on to the position though.
Koko can't do much from the bottom here.
Crusoe is staying tight to Koko's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koko is not content to let Crusoe control the position.
Crusoe tries to advance to mount but Koko denies him.
Koko is trying to control Crusoe's posture but Crusoe avoids it.

Crusoe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Crusoe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Koko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Crusoe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Crusoe prevents Koko from escaping the position.

Koko is not content to let Crusoe control the position.
Crusoe is chipping away with strikes.
Crusoe moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Koko dodges the ground and pound from Crusoe.
Koko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Crusoe wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Crusoe is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Koko's shoulder. That is not cool.
Koko is trying to control Crusoe's posture but Crusoe avoids it.
Koko is looking for a sweep.
Koko seems a little lost for a moment, as Crusoe dominates the positioning.
Koko prevents Crusoe from improving position.
Crusoe slows the pace down.
Koko struggling a bit here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crusoe works to advance to full mount. Koko defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Crusoe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Crusoe is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Koko has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Koko is squirming around, avoiding Crusoe's attempts to control the action.
Crusoe landing strikes, looking to finish!
BOOM! Crusoe connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Koko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Koko tries to lock up and control but Crusoe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Crusoe is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Koko has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Crusoe can't control as he wanted to and Koko manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Koko wants to control but Crusoe is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robinson Crusoe dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Crusoe uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Koko.
Crusoe tries to counter with a takedown but Koko is quick to defend against it.
Crusoe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Koko sprawls well. Koko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Crusoe gets slowly back to his feet.
Koko lands with a good body shot.
Nice body kick there by Koko.
Koko looks to throw the jab but Crusoe is out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koko throws a shot to the body.
Crusoe drops his hands momentarily and Koko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Koko connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Crusoe momentarily.
Koko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Crusoe.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Koko is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Koko has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Crusoe walks into a left hand.
Crusoe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Crusoe on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Koko sends Crusoe crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Koko is motioning to the referee to let Crusoe up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Crusoe is rocked!


It looks like Robinson Crusoe has been cut.
Koko has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Koko finds Crusoe's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Crusoe flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Koko lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Crusoe will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Michael Koko!
Michael Koko decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
