The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soini drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Powell manages to work his way to half guard, despite Soini's best efforts.
Powell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Soini thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Soini really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Powell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Powell pushes Soini off and gets back to his feet.

Soini fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Powell to the ground. Soini is now in Powell's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Powell manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Powell jumps guard and drags Soini to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Powell pushes a forearm under Soini's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Soini is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
