PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Armando Esposito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Stelling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esposito comes to the cage accompanied by "Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat" by Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr. Stelling has chosen London Calling as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Armando Esposito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jack Stelling !
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stelling with a lazy takedown attempt
and Esposito counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Stelling tries for a takedown but Esposito circles away easily
and Esposito counters with a right hand to the body.
Esposito keeps the fight on the outside.
Esposito fails to land with a series of punches.
Esposito takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Esposito closes the distance and pushes Stelling back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Esposito is pressed up against the cage. Stelling has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Esposito down to the mat. Esposito avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Armando Esposito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Stelling .

Stelling has closed the distance and engaged Esposito in a clinch.

Esposito won't allow Stelling to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stelling keeping moving, preventing Esposito from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Esposito has momentary wrist control but Stelling slips an elbow through the middle.
Stelling is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stelling 's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stelling passes Esposito's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Stelling is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Stelling looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Esposito is trying to stand up here but Stelling is controlling him well.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Stelling misses with a takedown attempt - Esposito sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Esposito half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Stelling doesn't manage to clinch there - Esposito circles away.
Esposito throws a big counter combination but Stelling scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stelling tries to close the distance and clinch up but Esposito swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stelling fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Esposito is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Sloppy strikes from Stelling . Those never looked like landing.
Esposito tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Esposito shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stelling as he avoids it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Esposito throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stelling wants to counter the offense by Esposito and move into the clinch position.

Stelling decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Esposito wants to stand back up but Stelling manages to pass into side control.

Stelling decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Esposito avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Stelling is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A chopping leg kick lands by Stelling .
Stelling looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Esposito is fending him off so far but Stelling persists. Nope, Esposito circles away and we're back to standing.

Stelling rushes Esposito and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Stelling manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Stelling is looking to stand up but Esposito isn't so interested in that idea.

Stelling is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Esposito is controlling him.

Jack Stelling showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Esposito's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Stelling stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nice defenses there by Esposito.
Esposito was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Esposito avoids the body shot from Stelling .

Esposito moves into the clinch.

Stelling has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Esposito uses from the top position.
