The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black swings for the body but Shatterstone moves out of range.
Shatterstone tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Black is looking to land body kicks.
Black lands with a thumping leg kick.

Black moves into the clinch successfully.
Black goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Black tries a body shot but Shatterstone blocks it.
Shatterstone blocks a body shot from Black.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black misses with a body punch.
Black lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Shatterstone.
Shatterstone prevents a body shot from Black.

Black drops Shatterstone onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Shatterstone is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

It looks like Grimpen Shatterstone has been cut.
Black gets through Shatterstone's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Black misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Black doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Shatterstone looks winded!
Black misses with a punch to the body.
Shatterstone is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Black.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Black throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Black misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Black tries to work over Shatterstone's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shatterstone has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Black lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Black misses with a body punch.

Black drops Shatterstone onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Shatterstone is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Shatterstone is rocked!
Black has Shatterstone pressed against the cage. Shatterstone drops his hands and Black takes advantage by unloading with a massive hook that sends Shatterstone tumbling to the canvas! Black rains down with more punches but Shatterstone was already out! That's a highlight reel knockout for Black!
