Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dorsey Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vigo Halk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halk fails with the takedown

and Thornton counters with a takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thornton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Thornton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Halk, who protects the arm well.

Thornton goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Halk rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Thornton's guard! Nice work there by Halk!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thornton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Halk working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Thornton has passed into half guard!
Thornton thows a huge punch but Halk dodges it nicely.

Thornton decides to return to a standing position.
Halk shoots in but no luck this time.
Halk shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thornton as he jumps to the side.

Halk looks winded!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Thornton rushes Halk and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Thornton on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Thornton manages to pull guard.
Thornton has his hands on Halk's head, controlling the position.
Halk trying to control the position from guard on top but Thornton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Thornton is pulling down on Halk's head. It's preventing any offense from Halk, at least for the moment.

Thornton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Halk being controlled here momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Halk wants to control from the top but Thornton keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Halk moves into the clinch.
Halk working Thornton over with knees to the body.

Halk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thornton sprawls well. Thornton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Halk gets slowly back to his feet.
Halk closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thornton circles away.
Thornton is looking to counter the offense by Halk and move into the clinch.
Halk fails with a takedown attempt.

A decent looking cross lands there for Halk.

Thornton is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Halk looks calm but he's in trouble here. Thornton gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Halk is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Thornton lets go of the hold and Halk can pop his arm back in it's socket.
