Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Steve Koufis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JJ Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koufis tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.
As Koufis backs off Jackson throws a huge counter combo but Koufis manages to avoid it all.
Koufis cracks Jackson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like JJ Jackson has been cut.
Koufis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Koufis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Koufis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jackson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jackson throws Koufis to one side and escapes!
Horrible takedown attempt by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Koufis, which made it look bad.
Koufis checks a low kick from Jackson.
Koufis drops Jackson with a nice combination! Koufis dives into Jackson's guard, looking to finish!
Jackson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Koufis postures up.
Jackson is still in real trouble! Can Koufis finish him?
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Koufis wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Koufis gets to his feet and stands over Jackson, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Jackson felt that one! Koufis unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Jackson from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Steve Koufis!
