PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anton Kruglov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Satoren Yamashita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yamashita comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cant Be Stopped kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anton Kruglov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoren Yamashita!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamashita uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kruglov.
Kruglov lands a jab to the nose.
Kruglov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kruglov throws a right hand that Yamashita ducks under and follows up with a left that Yamashita also avoids with ease.

and Yamashita moves into the clinch.
Kruglov has a couple of punches blocked by Yamashita.

Yamashita escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kruglov seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Yamashita goes for a double leg but Kruglov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kruglov continues to drive forward.
Kruglov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Yamashita gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Yamashita breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Yamashita drives through and clinches with Kruglov against the cage.

Yamashita shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kruglov pinned against the cage. Kruglov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Yamashita counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Yamashita lands a knee to the body.

Yamashita has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kruglov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Yamashita doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

It looks like Satoren Yamashita has been cut.

Kruglov steps into range and cracks Yamashita with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Yamashita flops backwards and Kruglov dives into his guard looking to finish!

Yamashita is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kruglov has hold of Yamashita's hands but Yamashita slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Yamashita seems to be working for a kimura but Kruglov defends the submission attempt.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yamashita accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kruglov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yamashita was well out of range. Poor timing from Kruglov.
Kruglov throws a right and a left that Yamashita avoids nicely.
Yamashita shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kruglov as he avoids it easily.

Kruglov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kruglov looks to throw the jab but Yamashita is out of range.
Yamashita gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kruglov counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Yamashita! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anton Kruglov!

Anton Kruglov tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
In defeat, Satoren Yamashita stepped up to the mic, saying 'he got lucky!'.
