PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Short Low (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideki Masada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Low comes to the cage accompanied by Short People. Masada has chosen "Tokyo Drift (Restage Remix)" by Teriyaki Boyz as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Hideki Masada has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Short Low!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideki Masada!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Low tries to avoid it but Masada manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Low to the ground. Low escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Low counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Masada swings widly with a right hand
and Masada takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Masada gets caught flat footed, as Low shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Masada has momentary wrist control but Low slips an elbow through the middle.
Low stands up over Masada, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Masada wants to stand and escape but Low is having none of it.
Low slips nicely into half guard.
Low landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Low has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Low is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Masada is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Short Low!
Short Low spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
