Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caliman Matos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goban Declan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goban Declan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Caliman Matos's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Declan as Matos shoots in.
Caliman Matos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Matos feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Matos uses his free foot to push down on Declan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Declan.

Declan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Declan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Matos takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Matos closes the distance and clinches up with Declan, looking for a takedown. Matos pushes Declan against the cage but Declan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It seemed like Declan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Matos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Declan defends well and Matos ends up having to push Declan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
