Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Floyd Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dee Stroya!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stroya missing with a left hand there. Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Stroya blocks a head kick by Johnson.
Johnson avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Stroya just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Stroya.
Johnson connects with a body shot that sends Stroya's belly button to the back.
Stroya stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Johnson.
We've been told by Johnson's head coaches at You call THAT wrestling?? that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Floyd Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stroya attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Stroya looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Stroya has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Stroya throws a leg kick
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Johnson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Stroya.
Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Johnson misses the jab.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stroya throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson is looking to counter punch.
Stroya misses the shot to the body.
Stroya loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.
Johnson thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Stroya if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

A nice inside leg kick there by Stroya. That's going to slow Johnson down.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stroya shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Stroya moves out of range of the body kick from Johnson.
Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson scores with a kick to the body.
Johnson blocks a low kick nicely.
A swing and a miss from Johnson.
Stroya lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Stroya throws a looping overhand right but Johnson ducks down to avoid it.
Stroya looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stroya on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Johnson moves out of range as Stroya strikes.
Johnson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Floyd Johnson will probably get the nod.

Stroya with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Johnson to score with a decent uppercut.

Johnson lands a big head kick that sends Stroya tumbling to the mat! Johnson takes a step backwards and waves Stroya back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Dee Stroya has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stroya is breathing heavily.
Johnson feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Stroya crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
