PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otocanin Zmija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Otocanin Zmija will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Otocanin Zmija!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zmija's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Zmija duly obliges.


It looks like Roger Machado has been cut.
Zmija throws a combination. Machado tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Machado moves into the clinch successfully.
Zmija stalls.
Machado being controlled against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Zmija.
Zmija stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Zmija working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Machado swings wildly with an uppercut but Zmija uses good head movement to avoid it.
Machado tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Zmija's elbow.

Machado shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Machado showed some decent athleticism there.

Zmija makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Machado throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zmija was covering up waiting for the punch and Machado finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Machado is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Zmija manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Machado manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Donk. Zmija catches Machado right on the button with a cross.

Machado working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zmija doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zmija manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I would just about give that final round to Otocanin Zmija.
