PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Loens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Neuhardt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Loens comes to the cage accompanied by Best UFC entrance of all time!!!. Neuhardt has chosen Street Fighter II Ryu Theme Original as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rudy Loens has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rudy Loens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eddy Neuhardt!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Chris Dean and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loens scores with a takedown into Neuhardt's guard.

Neuhardt has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Loens has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Neuhardt tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Loens decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Neuhardt tries to kick Loens off but Loens keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Loens is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Neuhardt defends it well.

Loens is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Neuhardt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Loens.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neuhardt tries to kick Loens off but Loens keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neuhardt makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Loens tries to score a power double leg takedown but Neuhardt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Loens somewhat.

Neuhardt moves in looking to clinch but Loens pushes him off.

Loens wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Neuhardt, who protects the arm well.
Neuhardt wants to get back to his feet.

Loens tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Neuhardt is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Neuhardt bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Neuhardt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Loens shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Neuhardt manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Neuhardt pushes Loens off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Neuhardt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Loens manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Loens shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Loens showed some decent athleticism there.

Loens is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Neuhardt is just riding it out for now. Loens eventually gives up the hold.

Neuhardt manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Loens shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Loens was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Neuhardt pushes Loens away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Loens gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Loens is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Neuhardt has escaped the position, nice work there.

Loens stands up and beckons Neuhardt to his feet.

Loens throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Neuhardt has his hands clasped together but Loens breaks the hold and Neuhardt is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Loens!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rudy Loens!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Rudy Loens waved his t-shirt featuring Voodoo Nutrition's logo in front of the cameras.
The defeated Eddy Neuhardt had this to say: 'we' ll be back'.
