Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jai Setright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dane Cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Setright comes to the cage accompanied by The Dagger. Cook has chosen Seek and Destroy by Metallica as his entrance music. Jai Setright has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jai Setright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 24 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Dane Cook!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Setright is looking to chop away at Cook's legs.
A cross from Cook lands.

Setright moves into range and clinches up with Cook.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Setright.
Setright misses with a punch to the body.
Setright tries a knee to the head but Cook blocks it.
A short uppercut from Setright.
Setright is trying to break free.
Setright trying to land knees to the body.
Setright trying to land knees to the body.
Setright missing with knees to the body.

Setright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jai Setright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Setright misses with a body kick.
Cook looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Setright is fending him off so far but Cook persists. Nope, Setright circles away and we're back to standing.
Setright cracks the inside of Cook's front leg.
Cook takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Cook takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Setright fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cook manages to avoid it.
Cook bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cook looks to land a right hand but Setright moved out of range.
Setright works over Cook's head and body with a nice combination.
No joy there for Setright, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Setright lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


Cook is rocked!
Cook turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Cook is still on wobbly legs! Can Setright finish him?
Setright lands a nice looking kick to the body. Cook takes a step back to recover.
Setright throws a series of punches but Cook moves out of range.
Setright lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cook circles away quickly and effectively.
Cook seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Setright jabs Cook to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Setright fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cook was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Cook dips to his left and cracks Setright with an uppercut!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cook has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Setright.
Cook scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Setright doesn't seem bothered though.
Cook has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Setright fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Some wild striking there from Setright.
Cook tries to counter with a clinch but Setright shakes him off and moves away.
Cook paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A lazy left from Cook finds it's target.
Setright misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Cook gets the takedown into side control.
Cook lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Setright down.

Cook thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Setright takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Cook is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Setright has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cook tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cook has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Setright pushes Cook away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cook gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cook is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Setright knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Setright's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Setright manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cook's best efforts.
Setright makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Setright.
Cook missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Setright scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Setright stuffs the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jai Setright dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cook swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Setright tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cook was well out of range. Poor timing from Setright.
A big left from Cook misses.
Setright misses with a head kick.
Cook ducks under a wild hook from Setright.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Setright.
Nice cross by Setright.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Setright lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Cook has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Cook and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Cook swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jai Setright is winning the standup battle so far.
A cross from Setright lands.

Setright motions for Cook to come forward. Setright throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Cook forces Setright back against the cage and clinches.
Cook has a couple of punches blocked by Setright.
Setright can't find room to land a body shot as Cook controls the action.

Setright scores with a knee to the head.
A short uppercut from Setright.

Cook tightens his grip and picks Setright up, before dumping him to the ground. Setright manages to land in guard.

Setright manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Setright.
Cook managing to block the knees to the body from Setright.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Setright misses with a hook to the ribs.
Setright tries to land a knee to the head but Cook blocks with his arms.
Cook has Setright pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Setright manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Setright wants to stall.
Cook avoiding damage as Setright throws knees to the body.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Setright as Cook tries to tie him up.

Setright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cook works the jab nicely.
Setright keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Setright connects with a nice looking jab.
Setright fakes the leg kick and cracks Cook in the body.
Setright fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Setright scores with a hook.
Cook loads up on a big right hand but Setright slips the punch.
Setright is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cook can do to turn this around?
Cook closes this distance looking for a takedown but Setright circles away.
Setright scoring well with a low kick there.
Setright uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cook has time to react.
Cook avoids the head kick by Setright.
Cook bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Cook tries to close the distance and clinch but Setright swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Setright keeps the fight on the outside.

Setright takes the fight into the clinch.

Setright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cook scores with a hook.
Setright connects with a looping right hand.
A solid leg kick lands there for Setright.
Cook missing with a left hand there. Setright was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Setright moves in looking to clinch but Cook pushes him off.
Jab, jab by Setright - just one landing.
Cook swats away the attempt to clinch by Setright.
Setright scores with a jab to the jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cook throws a big shot that misses.
Setright throws a big shot that misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cook! But no joy.
Setright lands with a straight right. Cook didn't see that one coming.
Cook might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Setright wants to clinch
and Cook cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cook walks straight into a right hand from Setright - that's dropped him! Setright jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Cook from any more punishment! Cook complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jai Setright!
During a confident post fight interview, Jai Setright thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
