Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rory Williams!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Griffin.
Griffin is looking to score with low kicks.
Griffin wants to slow Williams down by chopping away at his legs.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Williams has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Griffin thuds his shin into the meat of Williams's side.
Griffin leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Williams is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Griffin throws a front kick that sends Williams stumbling back into the cage.
Chris Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin scores with a one two! Williams had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Griffin.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Griffin turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Griffin thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Williams if he has to take too many more of those.

Williams wants to pass the guard but Griffin is defending well.
Griffin pushes Williams off looking to stand but Williams dives back in and keeps control.
Williams is looking to advance position but Griffin won't allow it.

Williams seems to be looking for submissions.
Williams prevents Griffin from standing back up.

Williams is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Griffin is just riding it out for now. Williams eventually gives up the hold.

Griffin makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Williams misses with a takedown attempt - Griffin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Chris Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Williams.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Williams.
Griffin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Williamss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Williams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Griffin sprawls well initially but Williams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Williams wants to work for an arm triangle but Griffin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Williams seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Griffin is holding on tight.

Williams has control of Griffin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Griffin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Griffin is trying to stand up.
Williams looking to control and managing it successfully.

Williams looking to secure an arm triangle but Griffin defends it well.
Griffin is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. Griffin won't be happy with that.

Williams closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Griffin quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams stops Griffin from getting back to his feet.
Rory Williams has got the better of the ground game so far.
Williams is controlling the pace.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Let's hope that Williams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That kick from Griffin tenderised Williams's leg. Williams is trying to keep his angry face on.
Williams has a takedown stuffed.
Williams walks forward, straight into a front kick from Griffin.

Williams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Griffin is trying to buck Williams off.

Griffin throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin sizes up Williams with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Griffin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Williams shoots in and drives through. Griffin sprawls well.
Chris Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Williams.
Griffin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Williams has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Griffin lets loose with a powerful body kick. Williams will feel that in the morning.

Williams with the counter takedown but Griffin avoids it easily.

Griffin fakes the leg kick and cracks Williams in the body.
Williams is still on wobbly legs! Can Griffin finish him?
Williams with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Griffin to score with a decent uppercut.
Griffin circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Williams to the canvas! Williams doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Griffin keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Griffin!
After the fight, Chris Griffin was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
