Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sher Shah Suri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Funky Punch!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punch takes a swing at Suri's ribcage but misses.
Punch digs a good hook to Suri's body.

Punch closes the distance and clinches.
Suri tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Punch's elbow.
Punch looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Punch manages to break the clinch.
Suri throws out a loose jab but Punch uses good head movement to avoid it.

Punch has Suri up against the cage in a clinch.
Punch is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suri throws a punch but it's blocked by Punch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Punch.
Suri fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Punch misses with a punch to the body.
Punch doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A head punch on the inside from Suri fails to land.

Suri goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Punch is trying to maintain a safe position but Suri gets an underhook and turns Punch into the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Punch.
Suri can't get the takedown.

Punch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Funky Punch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Punch closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Suri blocks a head kick by Punch.
Punch misses with a jab, cross combination.
Suri fails to land with a series of punches.
Funky Punch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Punch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suri circles away quickly and effectively.
Punch fails in his attempt to clinch.
Punch gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Punch rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Suri connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Punch connects with the punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Punch slips under a jab from Suri.
Punch steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Suri.
Punch scores with a three punch combo!
Suri swats away the attempt to clinch by Punch.
Suri went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Suri avoids the head kick by Punch.
Punch swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Suri was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Punch misses with an uppercut. Suri saw that one coming.
Punch closes the distance but Suri moves to the side
and Suri connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Punch misses with a double jab
and Suri counters with a nice uppercut.


Punch is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Suri fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Punch square on the jaw! Damn, Punch is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sher Shah Suri!
Sher Shah Suri decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
