The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tesfay shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Marston sprawls well. Marston wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tesfay gets slowly back to his feet.
Marston has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Marston throws a jab but it's blocked by Tesfay.
Tesfay is looking for the big counter here.
Marston stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marston wants it to stay on the feet.
Marston scores with a jab to the jaw.
Tesfay displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Marston throws out the jab.
Marston wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Tesfay moves out of range of the strikes.
Tesfay tries to clinch there but Marston circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marston lands a glancing blow to the side of Tesfay's head.
Tesfay shoots in for a takedown but Marston shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lucas Marston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alf Tesfay.
Marston throws a body punch but Tesfay moves out of range.

and Marston connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Tesfay swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tesfay shoots for a double leg takedown but Marston sprawls well. He's pushed Tesfay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Marston stuffs the takedown.
Tesfay looks winded!
Tesfay lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marston circles away quickly and effectively.
Tesfay slips a straight right by Marston.
Tesfay feints the counter takedown.
Marston scores with a jab to the jaw.
Lucas Marston is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Marston sends Tesfay crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Marston is motioning to the referee to let Tesfay up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
