Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sean McConnor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deni Mukhtar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mukhtar is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Goyang Dumang. On his way into the cage it seems that Sean McConnor has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sean McConnor seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sean McConnor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deni Mukhtar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McConnor fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
McConnor fails with an attempt to clinch.
It seemed like Mukhtar was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Mukhtar looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Nice shot lands for Mukhtar.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mukhtar is pressed up against the cage. McConnor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mukhtar down to the mat. Mukhtar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Mukhtar dodges the punch combination from McConnor.
Mukhtar connects with a right hand. McConnor shakes it off.
McConnor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mukhtar lands a body shot.
McConnor dives in and grabs Mukhtar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mukhtar pushes down on McConnor's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sean McConnor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McConnor tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mukhtar counters with a stiff right hand.
McConnor looks for a takedown but Mukhtar sprawls well.

McConnor throws the left hand but Mukhtar avoids the punch easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mukhtar! But no joy.

Mukhtar wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
McConnor walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
McConnor takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McConnor dives in and scores a takedown into Mukhtar's guard.
Mukhtar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McConnor lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Mukhtar wants to stand but McConnor is controlling the position.

McConnor with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
McConnor controls from within his opponent's guard.
McConnor working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

McConnor lands a couple of elbows.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McConnor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McConnor won't allow Mukhtar to sweep him here.

Mukhtar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

McConnor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McConnor throws a strike but Mukhtar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McConnor is looking for a triangle but Mukhtar pushes his legs off easily.
Mukhtar connects with a couple of short punches.
Mukhtar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mukhtar postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
McConnor on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McConnor tries to get out of the position.
McConnor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McConnor is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mukhtar rolls with it to try and escape but McConnor cranks on the arm and Mukhtar is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
