Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erik Hiller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Osvaldo Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiller's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rush and Run - Shake and Jump. Osvaldo Gomez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Osvaldo Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Gomez tenderised Hiller's leg. Hiller is trying to keep his angry face on.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hiller. Gomez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hiller jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gomez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hiller to score with a decent uppercut.
Hiller has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hiller checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hiller drops down looking for a counter takedown but Gomez sprawls and moves away.

Hiller's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Gomez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hiller scrambles back to his feet.
Hiller takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gomez throws the left hand but Hiller avoids the punch easily.
Hiller looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Hiller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gomez can pounce on him.
Hiller throws a lazy right hand but Gomez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hiller displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gomez throws out the jab.
Gomez throws a big shot that misses.
Gomez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hiller throws a right hand that Gomez ducks under and follows up with a left that Gomez also avoids with ease.

Gomez moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hiller shoots in but no luck this time.

and Gomez finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Hiller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gomez as he avoids it easily.

Hiller takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Hiller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gomez tries to avoid it but Hiller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gomez to the ground. Gomez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Some bone on bone action there as Hiller checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Hiller throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gomez lands a leg kick that knocks Hiller off balance momentarily.

Gomez with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hiller dives in and grabs Gomez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes down on Hiller's head and hops out.
Gomez connects with an inside leg kick.
Hiller shoots for a double leg takedown but Gomez sprawls well. He's pushed Hiller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hiller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gomez can pounce on him.
Hiller is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Gomez avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hiller lands with a hook. Gomez tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gomez lands with an uppercut that bounces Hiller off the cage and back into range.

Hiller looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Gomez throws the kick towards the body but Hiller avoids it.
Hiller swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Hiller loads up on a big right hand but Gomez slips the punch.
Hiller shoots for a double leg takedown but Gomez sprawls well. He's pushed Hiller's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gomez tries a quick counter leg kick but Hiller is wise to it.
Hiller connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gomez's hands.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Gomez. Hiller shrugs it off though.

Gomez throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gomez throws a jab but it's blocked by Hiller.
Hiller shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hiller's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gomez under the eye.

Gomez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gomez tries to work over Hiller's front leg with a kick but Hiller checks it.
Hiller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gomez avoids it really well and circles away.

and Gomez counters with a head kick that drops Hiller to the mat! Hiller scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Hiller is rocked!
Gomez steps in with a hook that catches Hiller right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Gomez follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Hiller looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Osvaldo Gomez! Osvaldo Gomez retains his lightweight title!
After winning the bout, Osvaldo Gomez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Erik Hiller was interviewed post fight and said 'Gongrat to mr.Gomez! So what now? Im going to training for awhile and comeback for another run for the title. *Laugh*'.
