The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Akona finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Akona drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Akona drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akona jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Akona is taking a breather. Puszke says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Akona goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Puszke has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Akona but great work by Puszke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Akona dives in for a single leg takedown but Puszke sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Akona throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Puszke's waist but Puszke gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Akona off to one side.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Akona tries to score a power double leg takedown but Puszke sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Akona somewhat.

Nice takedown defense from Puszke. No joy for Akona on that attempt.
