The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gibson gets the takedown into side control.

Medard is trying to control Gibson's posture but Gibson avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Medard avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gibson.

Gibson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gibson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Medard throws a solid leg kick but Gibson takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Medard.
Gibson seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Medard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gibson's head.
